Administration

The administration office serves as the administrative arm of Miami County government. The office of the county administrator plays a key roll in:
  • Strategic planning for Miami County organization
  • Ensuring and valuing excellence in public service
  • Fostering partnerships with our citizens and community leaders
  • Preparing Miami County's annual budget
  • Executing all resolutions, orders, and policies of the elected board of county commissioners
  • Coordinating and administering the work of departments, agencies, etc. under the direct jurisdiction or fiscal control of the board of county commissioners
  • Serves as liaison between the citizens of Miami County and the board of county commissioners

County Administrator

The County Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management of Miami County government as the chief administrative officer, and is accountable to the board of county commissioners. The county administrator:
  • Implements and administers policies established by the board of county commissioners, including the county budget
  • Supervises appointed department heads
  • Provides support for the board of county commissioners' initiatives and programs
  • Responds to citizen requests
  • Interacts with county elected officials, other governmental agencies, and community groups
  • Prepares commission agendas
