Construction remains a viable industry providing local workers for both the commercial and residential building sectors. Local training programs have expanded in the region to offer more skilled workers particularly in the area of HVAC and welding.
Precision welding and metalwork are hallmarks of Miami County's industrial sector. Both Taylor Forge Engineering Systems and Doherty Steel employ a large number of workers making them two of the larger manufacturers in the metro area.
The state's ag-based economy remains strong in the region and is supplemented by a growing sector of orchards, vineyards and farms focused on providing locally-grown foods.
