County Commissioner Paul Scruggs
District 2 covers the city of Paola and north Paola and west Middle Creek townships.
Biography
Commissioner Scruggs was elected to his first term in November 2024
After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1985 with a B.S. in agronomy, he has spent over 30 years in agribusiness, developing and managing commodity trading businesses for companies such as Pillsbury, The Scoular Company, Lansing Trade Group, and most recently, The Andersons in which he retired from in 2022.

- Board of Directors - Arukah Institute of Healing
- Advisory Board - Arkansas Midland Railroad
- President - Cottonseed and Feed Association
- Vice Chairman of Louisburg City Convention and Tourism
2005 Paul and his wife Vickie moved to Paola from Leawood, Kansas. They currently live on a hobby farm west of Paola, where they have an assortment of livestock and other animals. Paul and Vickie have one daughter and two grandsons. They are members of Lighthouse Presbyterian Church in Paola, where Paul serves as a deacon.
