The Kansas Rural Opportunity Zone is a state initiative that provides qualified new employees with a state income tax credit.
Persons who move to Miami County after having lived outside of the state for at least five years qualify for benefits. They must not have had more than $10,000 of income in Kansas the year prior to moving. They must live in Miami County for a full tax year before qualifying for the income tax benefit. Read more.
This credit allows eligible individuals to exempt all their state income taxes for up to five years.
